Hackers steal 20k logins from Star Wars G

A hacking group has stolen 21,000 email addresses and 23,000 passwords from a Star Wars Galaxies fansite and published them online. SWGalaxies.net was targeted by ObSec, a small hacking collective with apparent sympathies for hacktivist groups LulzSec and AntiSec, Venturebeat reports.Jeff Moeller, editor of site owner LFNetwork, said SWGalaxies.net isn't actively maintained any more.Todd Feinman, chief executive of data protection firm Identity Finder, told VB: "It's unfortunate. It must be so frustrating for someone to see their passwords online, given the amount of online sign-ups we have to do. Passwords are a digital identity and password reuse is a serious problem that could lead toward identity fraud."Sony Online Entertainment and LucasArts are to pull the plug on the Star Wars Galaxies servers on December 15, the companies announced in June.
