Deus Ex clothing line is awesome but pric

If you've seen Deus Ex: Human Revolution you'll be well aware that main character Adam Jensen is one cool cat. Now, thanks to Square Enix and Musterbrand, we can kit ourselves out head to toe in Deus Ex: Human Revolution inspired clothing to try and be as cool as him.Obviously the item everyone will probably have their eyes on is Adam's rather stylish trenchcoat, which has a "detachable vest inside, customised printed lining, cyber-renaissance inspired shoulder/sleeve design, decorative dull black eyelets, twi front pockets and one inner chest pocket". Here's the kicker though - it'll cost you €189. Also available is a long-sleeve shirt with jell print on the chest, pigment print on the sleeve and embossed print on the neck for €29, five-pocket denim jeans for £69 and a bandana with Deus Ex-customised pattern design for €19.99.There are three t-shirts too, each with a different Deus Ex themed design for €24 a pop. If you're interested, you can pre-order items through the link below. We like the look of that bandana, but the coat is probably a bit too expensive...Deus Ex: Human Revolution hits the UK later this week. Check out our review round-up to see if it's worth your time (spoiler: it is) and have a look at the Xbox 360 vs. PS3 comparison video to see which version takes your fancy. Tamoor Hussain

EA on $1 billion lawsuit 'meteor hit wou

A California District Court judge has denied EA's motion to dismiss a potentially costly class action lawsuit over player likenesses. The case in question was brought against the publisher and sports association NCAA two years ago by former Nebraska and Arizona State quarterback Sam Keller and ex-UCLA basketball player Ed O'Bannon, who allege EA unlawfully used athletes' likenesses in its games without their consent.According to USA today, based on the potential number of athletes that could be attached to the lawsuit, were EA to lose it would be hit with $334.5 million in damages. However, the Indiana publicity rights statute says the award could be trebled if EA's violation was "knowing, wilful or intentional".EA's not stressing about the case though, with spokesperson Jeff Brown offering the following statement: "We could lose billions more if a giant meteor hits the earth. We're not planning for either outcome."Last year, approximately 6,000 retired NFL players brought a lawsuit against EA over the "unlawful" use of their likenesses in Madden NFL 09's historic teams. Carmack Games help 'reduce aggression'

id man and Doom mastermind John Carmack believe videogames can actually help reduce aggression rather than cause it. "People just play games now and I never took seriously the violence in video games debate," he said in an interesting chat with Industry Gamers. He went on to recall an E3 where reporters would bombard him with questions over the violence in games debate. "In the end it didn't matter, it didn't make any impact on things. I never felt threatened by it and it turned out not to matter," he said. "And I really think, if anything, there is more evidence to show that the violent games reduce aggression and violence," added Carmack. "There have actually been some studies about that, that it's cathartic. If you go to QuakeCon and you walk by and you see the people there [and compare that to] a random cross section of a college campus, you're probably going to find a more peaceful crowd of people at the gaming convention. I think it's at worst neutral and potentially positive."The Call of Duty series has recently once again come under fire after Oslo mass-murderer Anders Behring Breivik called Modern Warfare 2 a "training simulator" for his distressing actions. But according to clinical psychologist Christopher Ferguson - an expert on video game violence and mass killings at Texas A&M International University - those who seek to make the connection between games and violent acts aren't just wrong. They might well be racist. Why? Read his explanation here.

Dragon Nest The Start of a Revolution

By Thomas vonWolffradt (SomePlatypus), OnRPG Tech WizardCo-Written by Darren Henderson (DizzyPW), OnRPG Editor-in-ChiefNow it's rare that I go out of my way to spend 30 hours in a game to write up a game review. Normally these time intensive projects are given out to one of OnRPG's writing staff to do over the course of a month. However, in Dragon Nest I see the potential of a new way to play MMOs that prior to it has never been fully perfected. Dragon Nest represents the beginning of a new horizon in MMO gaming in which MMORPG fans and action console players can unite under one banner of gaming greatness. And since many of its brethren in the action revolution are still quite some development time away from release, Dragon Nest gives us an opportunity to experience the future of MMO gaming today!Dragon Nest takes place in a world that has been ravaged by war many years ago and has just recently reestablished peace. Although everything seems calm on the surface, a hidden war rages in the shadows between the Dragons and their Cultists and a small group of freedom fighters known as the Adventurer's Guild. Though the Adventurer's Guild is nearly powerless against the Dragon Cultists, an ancient elf with a bad attitude named Argenta stands alone as the only warrior with the power to prevent their aims. That is, until you enter the fray! Now you must enter an uneasy alliance with Argenta to save a descendant of the ancients from the clutches of the Dragons. There are currently four starting classes you can choose from. In terms of PvE prowess, they are all virtually equal and yet specialized enough to make each unique and fun to try. At level 15 you are able to take a test to unlock your second class upgrade and further specialize yourself into one of 8 total classes.Sorceress: These AoE masters bring immense pain to the battlefield but require meticulous timing and aim to do so effectively. Some of their long channeling times with long cooldowns make it important that they have protection so as not to waste their potential. At level 15 they may become Elementalists or Mystics. Elementalists specialize in harmful status effects like slow and wield unimaginable destructive AoE power. Mystics can follow the path of light or darkness, gaining insane armor piercing damage and gravity controlling AoE spells that can decimate an entire battlefield in one spell.Cleric: This isn't your dad's cleric. Clerics in Dragon Nest have a nasty bite in addition to their support magic. They fight on the front line with weapons like maces, dealing holy light magic that stuns their hapless foes into submission. Those who go the path of the Paladin will become nearly invincible tanks that sacrifice some of their support status in exchange for rendering enemies useless in battle. Priests on the other hand take support spells to an entirely new level, making their allies invulnerable and bringing massive AoE holy magic down around the battlefield.Archer: Archers are medium to long range dps that are effective at sweeping the enemy off their feet. While also specializing in AoE damage, theirs tends to be higher damage than mages but with a smaller range of effect. At level 15 they can follow the path of a Sharpshooter or Acrobat. Sharpshooters gain immense mobility, range, and are one of the most active classes in the game for attacking an enemy while in mid-air. Acrobats abandon their range safety and instead become a localized whirlwind of damage, knock ups, and knock backs.Warrior: What warriors lack in damage, they make up for with impressive comboing abilities. They can run, dodge, roll, and slam to keep on top of an opponent until they die. Though restricted to only melee weapons, said melee weapons have such large hit areas that you practically can't miss. Mercenaries are the most heavily armored character in the game, specializing in one-on-one confrontations in which they simply outlast any opponent blow for blow. Those seeking more active combat can follow the path of the Swordsman, engaging in long damaging combo attacks that are nearly impossible to break free from. At higher levels, Swordsmen can also learn wide sweeping AoE skills to give them range damage as well. The world of Dragon Nest is broken down in a similar fashion to another action game published by Nexon called Vindictus. In hub towns you learn about the story, adjust and enhance gear, pick up quests, and learn skills. Then you set out, alone or in groups of up to 4, into the instanced outer world in which you can pick up further quests, break down gear into crafting material, and select instanced dungeons and difficulty settings. The dungeons themselves start out simple and then grow progressively more challenging. Simple run and stab goblins eventually lead to sword and board goblins that will actively blow against attacks. Slow casting lightning mages eventually become fast teleporting massive AoE casting ice mages that can really ruin your day should you fail to dodge a single spell combo. And then in the expansion, Saint's Haven, you will face fire mages that bring a whole new meaning to the term DoT.So what makes this all so revolutionary? It's 100% based on your reaction speed, knowledge of your character's skills, and aiming every attack FPS style. Every class is provided enough utility to get through just about any situation thrown at them, assuming you know your class well enough to do so. Acrobats with fast reactions can jump and roll through a barrage of spells to disable the caster. Mystics can hold off legions of goblins with a few well placed gravity wells. Mercenaries can stand toe to toe with heavily armored ogres and break their defenses with a few well placed rolls and axe slams. Or you can get your face smashed in after a 5 second duration of enemy combos that leave you sitting in the corner frantically drinking potions.Where this system of combat really shines in the boss battles. Some of the best designed bosses can usually fly or teleport, have unique defensive abilities, and are able to smash your attempt to combo them apart with strong AoE skills. A gargoyle you face early on will zoom around the map, constantly summoning goblin minions to delay you. After shooting blasts of homing energy orbs he can land and turn into stone, increasing his defense infinitely and rapidly regaining hp until you stun him out of the stance. A later boss hovers over the arena out of reach and sprays the battlefield with poisonous stingers. Just as you think you've dodged them all he slams down on top of you dealing massive damage, forcing you to divide your attention between dodging darts and timing a jump to get out of the combo alive. I can honestly say I have never had so much fun fighting bosses in an MMO, and even in console games bosses were rarely as exciting as this.A downside to Dragon Nest that I have seen all too often on the forums is people who claim 'I got bored and quit at level 2x.' Even with a game as fun as this, inevitable boredom will always set in for some people. Oh wait that never happened to me because I played with my friend DizzyPW every time. If you aren't playing Dragon Nest with a friend, you are depriving yourself greatly of the true experience Dragon Nest has to offer.By teaming up with friends, not only do you have someone to share the experience with, you can take on the harder challenges in Dragon Nest much earlier. There is just an insane thrill taking on Abyss mode dungeons with your friend when you are level 19 and 18 and the recommended difficulty is four level 21s. Teamwork is put to the test as you constantly rescue each other from hordes of enemies, and set up ultimate team combo attacks to devastate a legion of monsters with a 500 hit combo. Our best example was our Mystic Acrobat team. DizzyPW would roll-jump into a group of 40 monsters and hit Marionette to shoot out a string of arrows that pulls enemies towards him. I would then cover the ground with poison and begin opening up a massive gravity well above DizzyPW as he danced around the legion of mobs.Once the gravity well opened I would blow all my cooldowns launching every magic spell in my possession as the enemy's were pulled into a central point. DizzyPW would blast then with a fan shaped archer skill and then proceed to bounce on top of the heads of enemies, culminating in the extremely powerful Acrobat skill 'Eagle Dive' in which he flies to earth at maximum speed dealing huge damage figures to all in the area upon landing. Seeing the ground covered with a legion of loot where a legion of zombies formerly stumbled is intensely satisfying.Besides the intangible satisfaction from zombie hunting with a friend, there are also many benefits offered for teaming up. The most particularly important is the PWR system. PWR is a system that allows casual players to not fall as far behind hardcore players by giving you experience bonuses for the first few dungeons you run in a day. If you team up with friends and run multiple dungeons successfully in a row, the game gives you discounts on how much PWR is spent on each dungeon run to keep you going at this bonus level longer. Also players running Abyss mode will only have to spend one key to unlock the bunny chest at the end, providing very useful goodies such as NPC gifts. This game goes beyond the call of duty to give players tons of things to keep them occupied. Every dungeon has a dozen or more achievements to be obtained, some giving titles with special stat bonuses. In addition billboards reside outside every dungeon to give players additional challenges (and rewards) for performing certain actions like collecting skulls from graves. An addicting side quest exists in which you can make friends with NPCs and improve relations by running quests or giving gifts to them. Eventually the NPCs will start to give you gifts back to help with your equipment strengthening. Also by befriending NPCs you gain faction points with one of three groups that can later be traded for all kinds of goodies in Saint's Haven. Various recipes exist for mixing lesser gifts you obtain to make greater gifts as well, and it really adds some flavor to the side quest when you have an item that two NPCs both love and you have to decide who to befriend and who to ignore.A circus also exists in which you and your friends can take part in crazy mini-game events to earn tickets. Some notably fun ones include a treasure hunt in which you and your friends are locked in separate rooms and must battle until united in the main room to face a super boss. Another epic circus event is the Goblarta Goblins in which Xerxes orders you to destroy the 300 Goblarta goblins in an arena style death match! DizzyPW is working on bringing a video of this epic event to OnRPG in the near future. Most MMOs would consider this enough for a launch title. Dragon Nest pushes the envelope further. You can take part in the arena to face other players in PvP battles or the Temple of Darkness where you team up with 3 friends to face an endless gauntlet of increasingly strong monsters, with prizes waiting for the heartiest of adventurers.I wouldn't be able to talk about Dragon Nest without mentioning the arena, considering this game won E3 2011's best PvP award. Personally I have some gripes to say about the arena. At E3 things were fantastic because it was essentially a LAN party, and when everyone shares the same ping the PvP in Dragon Nest is tough to beat. Each class is really well balanced at most levels, and artificially increased defense and HP helps prevent people who cash shopped to power or hardcore power levelers from dominating the game too heavily. Team PvP is especially fun because, as explained earlier with the Mystic Acrobat super combo, you can really perform some impressive combos on your hapless foes. Also in team PvP certain classes like the Mystic and Priest become much more viable as they require teammates to effectively unleash some of their greater attacks. Now enter the officially sanctioned ladder matches, that are fought only on a one-on-one basis. In this situation the paladin and swordsman classes hands down destroy almost any opponent with their superior combo abilities, endless knockdowns, and overpowered stuns. This only gets worse when you introduce ping issues and classes like Mystics and Acrobats with hard to land attacks are aiming at a shadow of where an enemy actually is. The swordsman and mercenaries especially have such large hit targets with their melee swings and fast movement speed that you will often begin to fly through the air from the opening of a combo attack long before the actual melee fighter is visually within range to harm you. Not to mention you better bring some heavy hitting skills if you even think you are going to stun these opponents as they charge haphazardly through a barrage of fire with little care for the tiny amounts of damage it inflicts. As such I recommend players stick with the team battles. As long as you have a teammate to interrupt, endless combo attacks aren't possible. With more targets on the battlefield, you will also have an easier time of landing attacks, and the fun factor increases for support classes as well. Best of all is you still earn medals from non-ladder matches that are used to upgrade weapons with special enhancements!Dragon Nest has so many nuances going for it that it's impossible to sum all its parts up in a single review. I will just mention that the crafting system is quite in-depth and will ensure players spend hours in every part of the game to build the greatest weapons and armor possible. Even after 30 hours in the game I'm still discovering new features like this and at level 25 there is plenty more to be seen in this game.Graphics are simple enough and customizable enough that almost anyone should be able to experience the joys of this game. The cutscenes, side quests, and main quests are also some of the best written in MMO history and should keep all but the most hardcore power levelers delayed a bit to read through them. The cash shop doesn't present too much of a power gap to players though I would recommend picking up some inventory and bank expansion slots before anything else or you will go mad trying to manage all the nick knacks you pick up in this game. If you are one of the few that haven't experienced Dragon Nest yet, then grab a friend (or three), divvy up the class selection, and get to cracking some Dragon Cultist skulls!Graphics – 3 (Watered down character models are balanced by impressive spell effects) Controls – 5 (For a front runner in the action MMO genre, Dragon Nest controls flawlessly) Features – 5 (I never felt wanting for more things to do in this game) Customization – 4 (While graphical customization is minimal, skill trees and armor crafting balance things nicely) Community – 4 (While I didn't talk with the community much, there always seemed to be things going on around me)

BioShock Infinite video Voice acting sn

If the new screenshots that came out Gamescom last month got you pumped up for BioShock: Infinite, you might want to check out this little snippet of gameplay showing some nifty voice acting. It shows how the emotional performance of the game's voice actor for Elizabeth converts to the game, and offers an insight into the close relationship the player will have with a clearly deeply traumatised Elizabeth. If you haven't already, check out the intriguing Ken Levine video Q&A that arrived at the beginning of the month. The Irrational boss discusses Move controls for BioShock Infinite, its plot, the PlayStation Vita and how he's toying with expectations. There's also plenty of gameplay footage over here. Wii U price, release date to be announced

Nintendo won't announce the price and release date for Wii U until 2012, president Satoru Iwata has confirmed. Speaking to investors following the company's disappointing first quarter financial results, the executive said: "Since the Wii U we showed you at the E3 show in June was still in the development phase without very specific proposals on the software titles, we are going to announce the release date and the price next year when we are able to explain the specific proposals."All we know for certain at this point is that Wii U is planned for release next year after March 31.Iwata also admitted Nintendo is concerned about the possibility that the drastic 3DS price cut barely six months into the system's lifecycle could make potential early Wii U adopters hold out in the hopes of something similar."With regard to the influence on the Wii U, what we have to take most seriously is that the price markdown could damage the trust of the consumers who bought the Nintendo 3DS just after the launch," he said. "I feel greatly accountable for it. Our decision of the price markdown this time has a side effect that, at the launch of the Wii U, people may feel that the price might drop in the near future if they wait. What we will be able to do to recover the consumers' trust before the launch of the Wii U is very important to us." Tom Ivan

Golden Joysticks heading towards stronges

It's Bank Holiday and you've probably got at least a few hours to sink into the Internet vortex. Why not spend all of about five of those minutes voting in this year's GamesMaster Golden Joystick Awards? You'll be joining the 180,000+ gamers who have already voted since it opened for business on August 1 - an early sign that this year's awards is heading towards it's biggest year ever.As if you didn't know already, the GJAs is a chance to voice your opinions on what were the best games of the last year. In a first for 2011 the games were nominated by a panel of games editors using genre-led categories. This has allowed for more games in the shortlist phase and the inclusion of some surprise nominations. Some of us on CVG have got our oar in already, but that's just our opinions - now it's time for you to help decide which of the shortlisted games should win. It's been made it even easier (and hopefully 'fun') to take part this year, with a dedicated voting site and the ability to vote only in categories you actually care about. However, if you do decide to vote in all, you'll be entered into a prize draw to win the Ultimate Gaming Prize including gaming laptops, PlayStation Vita and a huge stack of nominated games. If you're new here and want a quick introduction to the awards, including the Award ceremony where winners will be announced on October 21st, check out the video below. Also, if you're a games writer and want to attend the Golden Joystick Awards as part of the media, head over to the Golden Joystick Awards Facebook Page and let us know. CVG Staff

Starcraft 2 Journey to Diamond League Wk9

By Mohammad Abubakr, OnRPG JournalistIf you missed any of the previous weeks in my journey to diamond league, check out the Starcraft II review section. (http://www.onrpg.com/MMO/Starcraft-II/reviews)Games played: 10Initial Rank: Silver - 38Final Rank: Silver - 31Win/Loss: 5/5Facing a Zerg on the map Tal'darim Altar made me think I would be safe from early aggression and free to drone because of the map size. I scouted a large amount of Zerglings in my opponent’s base but continued to drone until my baneling nest was complete.I was hoping that my banelings would be ready by the time the attack came as just two to three banelings should have been enough to fend off the attack. Unfortunately the attack came sooner than expected and one spine crawler with four zerglings were not able to stop the attack. I was forced to concede upon losing all of my drones. After reflecting upon that match I felt that I was being much too greedy. I expanded and continued to drone even after I saw a large amount of zerglings. My initial thought was that he produced a large force of zerglings just for defensive purposes but I was wrong. If my opponent wanted to simply defend a small amount of zerglings with one or two banelings would have sufficed. I need to work on my reactions. The following game was my second time going up against drop play on the ladder. I only had experience with drops a couple weeks ago when an opponent used it against me for the very first time, other than that the only time I had seen it was while watching tournaments. My opponent was a Terran player that spawned close by air on the map Shattered Temple. He continued to apply pressure with marine and marauder drops in my main base denying mining time and forcing cancels on the spire. After losing the spire I should have morphed it outside of my main to avoid getting it denied as mutalisks would have allowed me to easily fend off drops.I had overlords to spot incoming drops but my reaction time was not quick enough. He would drop in front of mineral patches so that my Zerglings were unable to attack his units from all sides. This gave him the advantage because his ranged units could continue to attack while my melee units had to get close. The third drop finished the game as I had no chance of making a comeback upon losing my lair. I am quite good at focusing on the mini map in MOBA games but I have difficulty keeping track of it in SCII. This is probably because I have a lot more things I need to focus on, while in MOBA games I only need to worry about positioning for one unit.I played the following game against a Terran on Typhon Peaks very passively and only produced units when defending. Since we were spawned close by ground, the Xel Naga tower helped to warn me about any incoming attacks. I only produced an army when I saw an attack coming and continued to drone otherwise. This helped me to build up my economy and make good use of my limited larvae. His attacks were with small armies composed of marine, marauder and siege tanks. Therefore I morphed zerglings, banelings and mutalisks and with the help of spine crawlers I was able to fend off attacks with ease. After setting up my third base, I morphed a large army and overran his base. While he might have been able to defend, I made sure to kill all of his workers with my banelings. He was smart to leave the game. The next game my Protoss opponent four gated me. I was able to hold off the aggression but since he had walled himself in, I had no scouting information. I forgot about my overlord and did not use it to scout. Turns out he also had hidden starports and was aiming to follow up the four gate with a void ray and phoenix attack. My spire was not complete when his air army showed up and was forced to concede because I had nothing to fight his air army. Once again I have lost a game due to a lack of vision. It might take some time getting used to continuously scouting and gaining information but I feel after I learn to scout effectively these cheese and all-in plays will not be very effective against me as they are meant to surprise opponents.Although I did not play a lot of SCII games this week because of limited time, I think I am making progress. By the end of the week some of my opponents were gold league players. Hopefully I'll be able to join them soon.If there are any suggestions or feedback about this series, please let me know on the OnRPG forums (http://www.onrpg.com/boards/) @ Abubakr (http://www.onrpg.com/boards/member-abubakr.html). Alternatively you may message me in Starcraft II (Abubakr, 109).

Harvest Moon Grand Bazaar screenshots tr

Rising Star Games has released a new batch of screenshots from Harvest Moon DS: Grand Bazaar. Our US readers might be thinking, "Why would they do that for a game released over a year ago?" If you're Japan that would be over two-and-a-half years ago. It's because the game's only just preparing for its UK release. Rising Star Games finally picked up UK publishing rights in March 2011 - more than two years after the game's Japanese debut. In the game, players raise animals, harvest crops, craft rare delicacies, and then sell their wares at their shop in an effort to revitalise a once thriving but now desolate town bazaar. It'll be out in UK, at long last, on September 30. Heroes of Might and Magic Online Review

By Jerrico Tan (JetSet), OnRPG JournalistMeant as a browser game for the Chinese market in 2008, Heroes of Might and Magic Online (or HoMMO for short) arrived to western shores as a standalone client game last June 2010. TQ digital, a Chinese game studio, based this game on Ubisoft’s best selling franchise – Heroes of Might and Magic III but this time added an MMO spice to it.For those who are unfamiliar with this long running franchise, this game is generally about the player being a hero of their race who sets out to become the ruler of their land with tactical prowess and castle management. When logging in for the first time, the game lets you select one of 8 factions. Each faction has its own town design with a unique set of racial units to choose from, and each of these units have their own tactical styles, thus spicing up combat quite nicely. For example, choosing the ‘Castle’ gives you human units that offer straightforward attack bonuses while the ‘Necropolis’ gives you undead units that specialize in devastating debuffs (one of these units even has a skill that can cut an enemy’s HP in half!).After choosing a faction, players must next create a hero that will provide commands to the selected faction units. They can choose from spell caster or melee type of hero. Both classes can choose the same illustrations/avatar pictures in the list, but their starting hero appearances are the same. You can customize your hero’s hairstyle and equip class specific armors later in the game.As I have said earlier, this MMO spinoff derived most of its elements from Might and Magic III. The classic hexagonal turn based battles are still here, but TQ added new kinds of exploration elements to it.The new kind of adventure element that separates this game from previous HoMM titles is the real time exploration. That means you can explore the beginner city of Harmondale and the rest of the world with your hero as an avatar. The realms outside the city are filled with wild creatures that can be farmed for items. There are also grinding types of quests that should be completed outside the city such as killing 8 wild beasts or reaching NPCs located at places in the middle of nowhere. You shouldn’t worry about finding the quests though because just like other Chinese MMOs (like Godswar Online), you can use the autopath feature to let your hero easily get to its required destination. The classic turn based world travel system is still here, but is now part of Episodic Quests that have to be completed for rewards. These quests can also be completed with friends through co-op. Supply items can also be collected here (all supplies that you have collected in the quests can be deposited when you’re back in the city). The city of Harmondale is the heart of the game. This is where you can sell and trade items, deposit looted supplies in quests, change your hairstyle and assign members for your army. Some special events (like trivia quiz contests) are held in the city daily. The main city is also the only place where you can gain access to your town.Your very own town is the only place where you can upgrade units, and each of them has their own respected houses. Players can only gain access to the higher-level units when your town has reached its house requirements. Fallen units from previous battles can also be used to upgrade its squad’s star level (raising star levels give great bonuses in the unit’s stats).Just like Might and Magic III, battles take place in a small arena with hexagonal tiles. Each player represents squads of visible units on each side of the screen. Ranged units can fire across the arena while melee units need to reach their opponents’ units first in order to attack. Heroes are on the side of the battlefield but can play an active role. They can only use spells learned in their spell-books (spells vary from powerful nukes to support buffs that can help your squads last even longer in battle).Another unique element in this MMO is its spell learning system. Proficiency points (which can be achieved through in-game battles) are needed to level-up your spells. Unlike the usual MMOs, higher spell-books are required to master spells. And lastly, through the game’s matchmaking system, TQ has perfected its PVP feature. Thanks to this, players are assured of having an even match against their opponents. Tournaments and ranking matches are held daily and winning players are greatly rewarded. These and many other features sum up to an MMO worth playing. But amidst all the features mentioned, there are still noticeable flaws and drawbacks. It takes a long while for a player who is new to Might and Magic to learn the game’s basics. The user manual is also misleading. The game was poorly translated in English and some game dialogues were difficult to understand (Gibberish characters always appear after texts which can be annoying). The graphics is outdated for its time (2008) and making it 2.5D clearly wasn’t enough to compete with other MMOs in the market. Non-paying players are also at a large disadvantage as there are no opportunities to obtain cash items, unlike other MMOsIn conclusion, TQ did a great job in making this a special MMO spinoff of Might and Magic III. Unfortunately, hardcore fans of the franchise might get disappointed about this one. The MMO elements that were added made it lose the Heroes of Might and Magic feel. Plus, the game itself is more about the growth of your hero and spells instead of town and unit management. Nevertheless, this is still certainly commendable since this game was developed by a totally different team and the game itself is meant for another audience. But despite all those issues, this unique Heroes of Might and Magic game is still one of the best strategy games around and is definitely worth a try. *Based on a highly acclaimed franchise. *Wide range of factions and tactical gameplay. *Great matchmaking system. *Easy to manage buildings and units.*Confusing game basics and misleading manuals. *Poorly translated interfaces/scripts. *Outdated graphics (for a client game).

Battlefield 3 Beta Glitch In Real Life --

The beta, on all platforms, has been plagued with some weird glitches, some are even game breaking. It goes without saying (but here I go anyway) the BF3 beta is not a reflection of the finished product. The retail copy of the game will hopefully do away with these bugs, but in the mean time, we will exploit them and make fun of them mercilessly. One of the funniest glitches in BF3 is the "Nessie." Yes, I'm the only one who calls it that. The glitch has already been parodied with a "in real life" video.Keep reading to see the original video of the "Nessie" glitch. Here's the glitch of a gamer watching an enemy grow a long neck, flop along the map and shoot with his magical glitched gun. The video is rated H for "Hilarious."Tips? Suggestions? God Of War Studio Working On An Unannounc

The sad, revenge-fueled story of Kratos apparently came to an end with the release of Sony Santa Monica's God of War 3 last year. While there's little doubt that we'll see more of the ashy Spartan warrior at some point in the future, the studio has apparently shifted its efforts to focus on something entirely new.A Gamasutra job posting reveals that Sony Santa Monica is working on an "unannounced new IP." The open position is for a Senior Level Designer, and the listing further notes that candidates with experience developing an open world game are preferred. The God of War series is known for its very linear structure, so it seems that this new game will be a departure on more than one level.Source: Gamasutra

Early Access Tiara Concerto

It feels like each of the games shown at the Gamania Gameshow last week held a strength that made it unique from the others. In the case of Tiara Concerto the defining factor is its animation quality. This game plays well, but each action and reaction from foes and players alike just comes out seamlessly. For anyone familiar with Skies of Arcadia or the Tales of Series, this game will throw you into massive nostalgic shock due to the gameplay style, driven storyline, and air pirate theme coming together. But great animation, pretty outfits, and nostalgia isn't enough to compete in the MMO market so I'll start with the core mechanics and build up to why Gamania is so confident in this game heading stateside.Tiara Concerto bases its character selection on a system of 3-3-2. 3 races, 3 classes, and 2 weapon types per class. This basically leads to 18 potential ways to build yourself as each race provides passives and skill variations and each weapon unlocks new ways to each class.Beast: The beast race is hardier than the others. With higher physical attack power and defensive stats, they are right at home on the front line as any class. What they lack in magic ability they make up with additional combos to help keep foes stunned longer from range.Elves: The elves are the opposite of the beasts in every way, both shorter in stature and extremely vulnerable to taking any kind of damage. It's usually unwise to use any of their melee range abilities unless you are extremely confident in your ability to block and counter an enemy. Their magical abilities are top notch and make devastating use of long charge attacks skills.Humans: Humans are balanced, neither specializing in defense or over the top magical prowess. However their unique execution of skills and freedom to excel on both the front and backline allow them to skill spam like no other and compete quite well with their racial counterparts.Performer: The tank class. They can utilize two-handed swords for maximum offensive power or polearms for long range attacks and skillful aoes.Composer: Composers are mid to long range fighters. They can excel at long range with charged shots from their twin guns or get more personal with the gun blade. Their agility and resistance to critical strikes make them surprisingly resilient in intense boss battles.Tuner: Tuners are the mage/cleric classes, utilizing Harmony and Chord skills to utilize the elements of fire, earth, water, and wind to support their team. They pack the greatest punch in combat but can die just as quickly under the care of an unskilled player. Utilizing your racial specialization to its fullest is key to unlocking the ultimate potential of this class.Tiara Concerto couldn't claim to be a true pirate MMO without an extensive exploration system on its world map. There are constant treasures abound for the keen eye to discover, including musical instruments that can unlock hidden dungeons or even alter currently unlocked dungeons to include new more powerful monsters, challenges, and even storyline. Once inside a dungeon the game changes drastically from an open world sandbox exploration game to a heavily story driven game with missions to accomplish and fast-paced action combat galore.Tiara Concerto uses its beautiful animations to the fullest with the action and reaction system. Every attack, whether done by a player or enemy, features a clear animation signaling the strength and type of attack being prepared. Some AI will actually dodge away or attempt to interrupt your attack, so you better believe you need to be just as active and aggressive to stand a chance. Players can crouch, jump, block, counter, and use various dodge oriented skills to their advantage to escape from enemy attacks. The type of escapes vary from class to class with performers utilizing powerful knock backs and defensive stances, composers using lunging pistol shots, and tuners using snares and long range teleporting. Producer Gabriel Pang even suggested that if they can iron out some of the roughness of dodging skills, they might even introduce platforming challenges into the game such as skillfully jumping and ducking across ropes to board an enemy pirate ship.Although the obvious reason of learning these escape tricks is in order to stay alive, a note gauge system will further reward players for their style. As your gauge increases, you gain access to more powerful Sforzando attacks that will really cut through the most daunting of foes. Though the difficulty of actually building up to the level that Sforzandos unlock means you will likely only utilize them on key moments of the storyline when death is certain without them. Another reason to care about style points is that each individual member of the team will be graded at the end of successfully completing a mission. Those who contributed the most towards the musical gauge will receive higher grades and greater potential rewards, with a bit of luck.Another system in place that really lets players cut loose is the Accent State. Though I'm not entirely sure of the details involved with unlocking this mode, when the little pink haired girl from the trailer sings, your character goes wild. All cooldowns are removed, channeling time increases, and the game is broken down into a spam fest of how many skills you can get off in rapid succession and still duck away from the boss in one piece.Combat intricacies aside, Tiara Concerto further mixes up the medley with mission based objectives beyond kill X and walk to Y. I feel like they haven't quite developed them to the point that this is game changing, but it was still nice to be barraged by endless pirates until destroying their side cannons or infiltrate a pirate ship and search for hostages between decks. Too many MMOs up till now have relied on flat boring maps and Tiara Concerto really adds depth and realism to its flying pirate ships.Very much to the North American press' dismay, PvP was not yet ready at the time of the gameshow. This became even more painful after we learned that they are planning an airship capture the flag mode as well as the standard PvP deathmatch. Many of the skills in this game seem built for PvP and, if done well, PvP could be the difference between Tiara being a success and being a blockbuster title in the western market.Overall this game felt like one of the more solid and complete games showcased at Gamania's Gameshow. My few gripes though must be known as this game has so much potential that I don't want wasted. The deep focus on animation sometimes slows combat down a bit, and you find yourself unable to force your character to react to enemy attacks that should have been dodgeable. I also felt like the game was a bit too casual friendly for an action game, and I would like to see more rhythm actions included in long channeling skills. A game built around a musical theme and not having an element of rhythm based skill charging just seems silly. It was also a bit ridiculous that some performer attacks would launch you straight behind you into your blind spot if you had targeted your foe prior to using the ability. If they make animations cancelable and actions like defending and jumping more responsive, this will be an action game worth counting down for when beta is announced.

PlayStation Home update Sodium 2 'Nemesi

This week's EU Home update sees the arrival of a big update for sci-fi racer Sodium 2, a Deus Ex: Human Revolution costume and puppies. "Set within the site of an ethically questionable and borderline illegal mining operation on the exoplanet Iridos, the twists and turns of this track will see you speeding past the abandoned machines and facilities that the long-gone corporations left behind. What's more, you'll also be able to prove your worth on the reverse version of this track."It adds: "New rocket boosters and hover engine upgrades will give you even more customizability options for your craft, allowing you to make the decisions that could see you sitting pretty at the top of the Sodium2 leaderboards."The game's also got a new "Holo-rank system" for your bragging tendencies, along with "a range of smaller improvements to Sodium2 based on your feedback such as the ability to quickly select new classes of vehicle in multiplayer, and removing chat bubbles in race."Those who want to dress up like Adam Jensen from Deus Ex: Human Revolution can do so by chicken-walking themselves over to the Alter Ego store. Oh, and Loot has puppies. PUPPIES! More info on this and the rest of the Home update is through the source link. Mike Jackson

id Software's described the huge expectation from its loyal following, telling Xbox World 360 magazine, 'we love our fans - but sometimes they drive us nuts'. Speaking in XBW's latest issue, creative director Tim Willits explained that even though id's latest shooter Rage offers driving, shooting and RPG elements, fans will still find holes to pick in it."The worst thing is that everyone wants the kitchen sink and everything else too," he said."For Rage, we're doing all these things and yet people are like 'Well I can't blow up these boxes', and I'm like 'Are you serious? We have driving, racing and all these cool characters!' 'But in this other game I can blow up boxes', and I'm like, 'This other game doesn't have any racing in it!'"It's crazy. Legends of Xian - Historic Chinese Action

By Bryan King (Bryan), OnRPG JournalistLegends of Xian is adapted from Ming Dynasty, which is one of China’s most popular web games in 2010. Legends of Xian is a perfect combination of RPG, strategy, adventure and various styles. Based on history of China’s Ming Dynasty, the entire game features vintage character design, vast territories throughout ancient China, diversified game systems, and unique game setting. You'll have fun in heroic adventure, affairs management, level upgrade, and unforgettable battles; you'll find tons of in-game events, diversified equipment & a huge weapon refining system, an interesting slave system, and an exciting arena system. Legends of Xian’s character creation allows you to choose between three states within the ancient Chinese Ming Dynasty:Yongle State – Occupying the Central and northeastern areas, famous for its brave citizens and lionhearted warriors.Wanli State – Located in the northwest, noted for its valiant heroes from successive wars against the northern invaders.Hongwu State – Situated in the southern fertile lands, contains rich resources, and has an advanced economy and a powerful army. The sense of nationalism instilled in the early character customization is quite an interesting way to spark up rivalry between new players. Once you choose one of these three factions, their appearance doesn’t mean much, however, because their map design and playing style plays the same. Upon logging in, I was greeted by rather impressive, authentic Chinese music as opposed to many Chinese dynasty browser games. The music just has a soulful, well-produced ambience about it that many oriental based games seem to lack. Sound was very responsive, with each menu having a stylized “click” or confirm tool that wasn’t an annoyance, and can easily be turned off within the game’s extensive options system. The only annoyance I found within the game was within the combat sound’s confines. The repetitive slashing noises constantly droned on in all aspects of combat, including when my entire army consisted of… archers. I hope the LoX team addresses this. The game’s UI and graphics are pretty standard for a F2P browser game, especially considering how much information has to be handled by the player at once, between Buildings, Technology, Units, Unit Equipment, and so on and so forth, the game does a decent job of handling a sensory visual overload in a somewhat sleek and easy to explain interface. The game’s models look crisp, but it’s nothing stunning or spectacular. If you’re looking for client-oriented graphics, you won’t find it here. However, if you want a well-represented expectation of Ancient Chinese combat and management, you’ll find it here. For the most part, Legend of Xian’s gameplay hovers around basic PvE and PvP combat, however, players will find that this system later branches out into an open PK mode, siege battles, state wars, and clan wars. Considering this is all set up in a browser-game is an impressive feat. The game’s introduction allows a smooth transition into the combat, and by smooth… I mean almost a slippery slope. The first problem I encountered was how unchallenging the content was, for the first ten levels of my experience, I didn’t even see more than one move in battle, I killed all of my enemies in one shot, even when I was severely outnumbered in terms of population numbered. Every single time, I got “perfect victory”, returned to town, gave the NPC the quest item they wanted, and I was showered in EXP, resources, gold, and so on and so forth. The translation within the game is not perfect either, I often found myself stumped and confused at random NPC blurts (“I’VE WAITING BEEN!”) within the game, often getting in the way of me absorbing what I needed to do for the quest. This is a lukewarm aspect of the game, and the other features of the game are much more enticing than the game’s overall gameplay polish.Legends of Xian excels in the prospects of sound and has many enticing features that may just make it worth trying after a lazy day at work, or in short bursts of time. However, the gameplay does not make the game as worthwhile to play as more polished. If you’re a Chinese history nut, this game does provide some authentic information in an active environment for you to enjoy.+ Game’s music is very well done. + UI is streamlined for an accessible experience + Well done storyline.- Boring and unchallenging gameplay - Quest and NPC translation are distracting and lackluster - Combat sounds repetitiveGraphics/Sound – 4/5 Gameplay – 2/5 Features 3/5

Twisted Metal was originally supposed to ship on October 4, 2011 but according to a post on by Jaffe on the PlayStation Blog, the developers at Eat Sleep Play are "just not ready yet.""It sucks bad when games miss their announced launch dates," said Jaffe. "We’re gamers too and we know how annoying it is. It’s disappointing and frustrating and it really takes the wind out of your sails if you’re a fan that has been looking forward to playing a title for a long time." Jaffe affirms that the Twisted Metal game that ships will be the best Twisted Metal ever made, and they only want to ship the best product. As someone who is used to waiting very, very long for great games to come out (ahem, The Last Guardian and Diablo 3) I think it's a good idea when developers hold on to their titles a little bit longer in order to ship out something that will exceed expectations. But is it fun? G4's Miguel Concepcion visited the haunted vacation spot and brought back word on this glitchy but still-enjoyable experience. Here's a taste of the review:What Dead Island might lack in gameplay originality, it certainly makes up for in shamelessly milking familiar zombie genre troupes. All you really need to know is you’re among the survivors of a zombie outbreak and you’re one of four playable characters who are mysteriously immune to the effects of bites from the infected. It’s a fine justification for why you’re the only ones going out in the open while everyone else is cowering in a lighthouse or church.Read the rest of our Dead Island review.

Resident Evil 5 Accident 16 Zombies Inju

This morning in Toronto, jimmy choo boots, 16 zombies were injured on the set of the Resident Evil 5 movie. "Big deal," I'll bet your thinking, "I killed like 16 jillion zombies last night." Or, more accurately, real actors dressed as zombies.According to completely reputable news source TMZ,jimmy choo outlet, a gaggle of fully-made up actors were standing on set with wheels. The set "suddenly moved," and 16 zombified-actors plummeted over 20 feet to the ground. That's like falling off the roof of a two-story house! Reportedly, none of the injuries were life-threatening, but there were still broken limbs and back injuries, cheap jimmy choo, so it's not like this wasn't a serious deal. Here's a macabre detail: The actors were so heavily made up with fake wounds and gore, EMTs had trouble determining real injuries from fake ones. Unlike real zombies, the actors did not simply continue shambling along with broken legs and spines. They were taken to a local hospital to be patched up.Let's hope the zombies get better soon, yeah?Source: TMZAll of the best people are following Stephen Johnson's twitter feed. Jagex has released the massive Clan Citadels expansion for its popular free-to-play MMO RuneScape. The update allows RuneScape's clans to build their own floating citadel, a customisable castle in the sky for players to meet, socialise and develop their own games using a new sandbox battlefield editor.Any clan with five or more members can take ownership of their own citadel and start creating user-generated combat scenarios and multiplayer games."Clans can create any activity, including simple capture-the-flag games, deathmatches, ball games, mazes, and any combination of these," Jagex says. "Once the battlegrounds are fine-tuned, players can challenge other clans to participate in large-scale battles and competitions."Each clan's Citadel can be upgraded through seven tiers, unlocking more space, skilling hotspots, impressive elements and special features. These include skilling zones, portal grounds, meeting areas, a senate, dragon perch, and party room." RuneScape VP Daniel Clough adds: "Today is a historic day for RuneScape, as we release the biggest expansion of the year and our largest ever community update. We have been looking for a unique and innovative way to provide new multiplayer features to the game, and we are hugely excited to see what the community makes of this update."The popularity of our in-game clans is staggering, with more than 1.3 million players signing up since our last clan update in April and, as you would expect, the level of anticipation for this update is unprecedented. Diablo 3-like trading may arrive in StarC

Activision's somewhat controversial auction house feature in Diablo 3 that'll allow players to make real-world currency sales for in-game items could eventually make its way to StarCraft 2. Speaking during an investors conference call today, Activision said that some of the back-end tech being developed for the Diablo 3 auction house can be leveraged for its globally popular PC RTS game, StarCraft 2.Rather than item trading as players will be doing in Diablo, Activision suggested that players would be able to create put their own custom-made maps up for sale to other players. Blizzard executive VP Rob Pardo said after the announcement earlier this week that Diablo 3's auction house will help prevent players from inevitably resorting to the illegitimate black market to buy items by providing a safe and secure system for such trades to take place within the game itself. CoD Elite 'breaks bad assumptions' about

Call of Duty: Elite will help to dispel a lot of the negative perceptions about online shooter communities, according to Activision digital vice president Jamie Berger. He told Gamasutra the service enables users to find other gamers to play with not by anonymous metrics but through any common interest that they may choose, thereby delivering a deep level of social interaction that promotes respect between players.Online shooter communities are often depicted as hate-filled environments that are unwelcoming to new players and minority groups, but Berger said the Elite community has been highly collaborative during the beta."One of the most interesting things to me is how positive people are in the service. I'm most excited that within it, people are being supportive; they're actually talking to each other, and amongst each other."They're so happy to actually have a place to be part of a community, not a message board... they're actually behaving very much like people who just want to be social and have fun, not people who want to flame each other."It creates a social contract," he added: "How can we start behaving as if we live in a neighbourhood? You try to treat your neighbours with respect. When you create a true community, that, to me, is the difference between 'social gaming' and a community."It starts breaking a lot of the bad assumptions about what a shooter is. It breaks down those anonymous walls and turns it into something where you start knowing each other."Activision said at the weekend that an annual subscription to Elite will cost £34.99/$49.99.

CVG Staff

Blizzard defends Diablo 3 real-money auct

Blizzard has revealed that Diablo 3 will have a new auction house feature that will let player buy and sell items with real money. Blizzard executive VP Rob Pardo made the announcement at a recent presentation, explaining that the feature comes in reaction to the thriving black markets that saw people exchanging items for real cash with previous Diablo games. Instead of trying to stop real cash purchases, Diablo 3 embraces it, he explained. "People were going to do it anyway, and this way it's secure," he said, later defending the feature against the suggestion players could spend more time in the auction room than actually playing the game. "As long as players are having fun, whatever they're doing, I consider that a success," he said. Players can list anything from weapons, armour, gold or even characters themselves in an auction house and sell them to other players for real-world moolah. Players will be able to make a limited number of free listing per week, but otherwise Blizzard will charge a small fee and take a cut of the final sale amount. Blizzard also revealed that the game will require a constant online connection to be played.

Nintendo confirms 3DS conference pre-TGS

Nintendo has confirmed reports that it plans to hold a 3DS-focused trade event just days before the Tokyo Game Show kicks off next month. That's according to the Wall Street Journal (via Edge), which reports that the September 13 event will be open to analysts, investors and press, but not consumers. The announcement of the press conference perhaps boosts the creditability of a new report claiming Nintendo's set to launch redesigned 3DS hardware, complete with a second analogue stick and "radically toned down" 3D visuals. Portal dev's new game is Quantum Conundru

As promised, Portal co-creator Kim Swift - who now acts as creative director at Airtight Games - has revealed her new game and it looks awesome. It's a first-person puzzle adventure titled Quantum Conundrum.Playing as 'a kid', you explore the huge and bizarre house of your uncle - a wacky inventor named professor Fitz Quadwrangle - which looks more like a laboratory for his creations. An explosion in the house sends your uncle insane and your mission is to locate him and figure out what's going on.But getting through his intricate house is a huge puzzle, for which you'll need the IDS device - Inter-dimensional Shift device - on your arm. This lets you switch between dimensions with different physical properties. For example, you can switch to the 'Fluffy Dimension' in which everything turns plush, so heavy things are light which allows you to move objects that are otherwise too heavy. There's also a slow-mo dimension in which moving objects (except you) move 20 times slower. As you progress from one puzzle room to another you'll be able to switch between different dimensions to solve the puzzles, and sometimes combine different dimensions with truly clever results to reach the exit. Swift explains it all in the video below:So you use an arm-attached device to defy physics and reach the exit of a series of puzzle-filled laboratory rooms. Sound familiar? Regardless of its Portal similarities, Quantum Conundrum looks and sounds amazing and we can't wait to see more of it. Luckily there's not long to wait - it's out in 'early 2012' on Steam, Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network for PS3. Mike Jackson

Then came the flame and disparity with it..."This video joins one released earlier this week that frankly advises viewers to 'prepare to die'. New budget PSP aimed at youngsters, says

Sony has said the budget PSP model revealed at GamesCom last month will be targeted at a "very young" audience. Set to launch this autumn for €99, the PSP E-1000 lacks wi-fi capabilities but will offer access to the full catalogue of PSP software either on UMD or from the PlayStation Store via Media Go."You will see the audience skew younger," Sony Computer Entertainment Europe boss Jim Ryan told MCV. "At €99/£89 it will make a great Christmas gift. It's a device to play UMD games. It's all for the audience."If we are going to take PSP very young - teens and much younger - they are happy to just play the game. If taking wi-fi out is the price to pay, we're happy to. The €99 price tag is a real barrier that we've got under which will help us lift off."Sony is offering discounts on 100 digital PSP titles this month as part of the PSP Power Sale promotion.

Starcraft 2 Journey to Diamond League Wk6

By Mohammad Abubakr, OnRPG JournalistIf you missed any of the previous weeks in my journey to diamond league, check out the Starcraft II review section. (http://www.onrpg.com/MMO/Starcraft-II/reviews) This week things get exciting as Season 3 has finally opened up and my chance to be placed higher than bronze is up for grabs!Games played: 12 Initial Rank: Unranked Final Rank: Silver - 34 Win/Loss: 6/6Week six began with the first day of Season 3. The ladder was finally unlocked and I could now get out of bronze. At the beginning of each new season, all players must play one placement match. This match decides which league you will start in for season 3 based on your MMR (match-making rating).I was very nervous for my placement match because I did not want to get placed into bronze again. I knew I had to win. I was pleased to see my opponent playing the Protoss race because I find I can win against Terran and Protoss most of the time. I have a lot of trouble facing other Zerg players.I opened the game with my usual opening, 14 gas 14 pool and expanded at 21. Since I just booted up Starcraft on my new PC, I forgot to change my game settings. Doing this in the middle of the game caused me to open up a bank account early on, I had so many unused minerals. This made me think I was going to lose but I remembered the average bronze/silver players are not very good at macro so I still had a chance.I was very lucky that I scouted his hidden void rays because I quickly set up spore crawlers, made extra queens and a hyrdralisk den. While I did lose my expansion because my forces were not ready, I did manage to hold off the aggression at my main base. Afterwards, I continued to make roaches and hydralisks and was able to overrun his base with the help of more workers. I was placed into Silver League! My first game in my new division did not go very well. I got matched up against a Zerg and knew I was in trouble; my ZvZ history thus far is dismal. My opponent did an early roach rush and I was unable to hold. I wasn’t defeated outright but I fell really far behind. I tried my best to catch up but I did not have the income to keep up and was forced to concede.Even after hearing a lot about the "Protoss Death ball", I let my Protoss enemy macro. This death ball is described to be almost unbeatable by a Zerg player unless the Protoss has bad control. While Zergs have the ability to amass large armies quickly, their maxed out army is not as strong as a maxed Protoss army.Unlike most Protoss players I have faced, my opponent did not attack early on. He simply waited until his army was maxed out and marched towards my base. I should have continued to apply pressure to end the game quicker. It is not a good idea to let your opponent produce a massive army without punishing him. I was unable to hold his maxed army with my maxed army and was forced to concede. However, I think I might have stood a chance if I had more infestors to mind control his colossi. The following game was quite weird. I was under the assumption that my Terran opponent was far ahead because I was floating a lot of minerals. It turns out that his macro was worse than mine. He had a lot of production buildings but was unable to support all of them on one base. I overran his base because he had nothing to defend it with.My next Terran opponent was not as bad. He continued to use medivacs to drop marines into my base. While I was able to hold off for a little bit, I really needed mutalisks out to prevent the medivacs from freely roaming the map. I did put down a spire but I forgot to build mutalisks. Oops. The next day I was matched up against a Zerg opponent. Since this was my worse matchup, I was scared of losing but was excited that to test some of my new tactics. I watched the GSL (Global Star League) finals between Nestea and Losira, both Zerg players, and learned some new tricks to help me. I was amazed at how many drones Nestea was able to produce before an army. This series helped me understand that I do not need an army really early if I continue to scout so I continued to expand my economy like Nestea and eventually overran my opponent. He continued to apply pressure but I was able to hold because of spine crawlers. Really looking forward to GSL August!I am just happy that I got into silver league this week. Hopefully I will find more time to play many SCII games or getting into gold may take a while. I will continue to watch the pros play to learn some new builds and tricks and hopefully improve my play.If there are any suggestions or feedback about this series, please let me know on the OnRPG forums (http://www.onrpg.com/boards/) @ Abubakr (http://www.onrpg.com/boards/member-abubakr.html). Alternatively you may message me in Starcraft II (Abubakr, 109).
